Babybump week 7, 8 or 9. – What? Aha!

10 days have passend and it is definitely time for an update as so much happened!

Indeed, it was only 10 days ago that I told you that I was pregnant. And here I am with a GIANT update in German, which I will cut short a bit in English just so save time, because… Giant update. Really.

Hairlength in January 2017: 90cm

90 is the new meter! Combination: – Heiki cut her hair

Indeed. And it was overdue. Unfortunately. A little. Because that my hair needed a cut so badly was mostly because I curled it twice with my curling iron. My dear Luise can curl her hair occasionally with her straightener without damaging her mane significantly, so I thought maybe I could do so too…? But no, my hair is not Luise’s hair and also not comparable to the manes of other ladies I admire on Instagram. Do you know @sarahannabella ? Oh my gosh, she is almost unreal… Bleached and curled hair on such a length. This is something my own hair smiles about mildly – before it breaks off.

1. January 2017

For real? – 2017 is going to be amazing! And definitely different.

My dearest friends! What a year! There were times when I just thought that it could not get any worse. But now with the change of numbers I am all with Oscar Wilde:
Everything is going to be fine in the end. If it’s not fine it’s not the end.

There is so much I wanted to blog about! A 2016 review (which you get today in pictures further downwards), 2017 preview and resolutions and of course I wanted to check my New Year’s Resolutions from last year. There were articles I wanted to share with you, which made me think about mindset and positivity. But basically I am sitting here, in front of my Mac, all smiling and still I can’t really believe what I am about to share with you. Because I just did not expect this to happen. At least not that quickly.  What do people say:

Happiness is reality minus expectations.

Hairfriendly ombré with xtend-your-hair extensions

Can I have such pretty ombré hair please? Just like I see it every day on social media, because they clever algorithms know what I like. Yes? No, it is hairdamaging, especially for such fine hair as mine. Oh but wait…! Yes, I can have that!

Project Pax – Finally enough space in our wardrobe!

Closed due to overcrowding – if this counts for your wardrobe too, I am here with some advice for you to either deal with your old wardrobe better or to find a matching new one.

We have a new one now and its name is Pax. It is a very suitable name as finally I am at peace again with our bedroom. Actually minimalism means at first place to have less topics on your mind and own less possesions. But let’s be honest: when it comes to my wardrobe I tried too hard for way too long. I won’t be a minimalist when it comes to clothes and I even don’t want to be one. I enjoy clothes  just too much. And because of that they deserve an appropriate place and no cramming and stuffing till the back panel of the wardrobe comes off… As I spent two months with sorting, research and finally two days with building and rearranging I have learned quite a lot in this time which can be useful for you too.

Who is Jakob Winter – Scents

This is so typically you! This is something you can say about colours, music, food, spleens, well, almost about everything. And so you can about scents.

I really enjoy such association series. Naturally I did them first with colours, talking about the colour types of my four heros (even though I have to adjust my first coices a bit. Jakob is a Soft Autumn who dresses like a Soft Summer. This works for him, but is not optimal as it makes him slightly paler as he is. How well he turns out with browns and greens is super obvious in my eyes when I look at my intuitive colour choices for him). Well. For today it is all about scents.

“Rocher” energyballs

There are certain things, certain conventional sweet treats, which… yes, which I really miss sometimes. That is why I try to imitate them occasionally. Just like I did with Rocher.

These energy bliss balls are currently my favourites, even though I have to be honest right at the start: they are just Rocher inspired, they are not like Rocher, as they have no creamy chocloate filling. But the balls are so haselnut crunchy, they hide a roasted haselnut in the inside and the chocolateglaze with haselnut brittel is also tasteworthy.

Hairlength in December: 94,5cm

New month, new post about my hairlength!

New month, new post about my hairlength! And hey, my hair grew 1,5cm since the last cut! Maybe it grew even a bit more if you measure the very last hair. Well, 1,5cm sounds both nice and realistic, 2cm would be just too good. Meanwhile my ponytailcircumference “rose” so 6,2cm which is 1mm more than last month. This means, that I have the same circumference for almost a year now, constantly slightly over 6cm. I still wonder if there can be more.

Energyball adventcalender

Homemade ist just the best, isn’t it? And especially if it is as tasty as this.

We already reached the holiday season which means the lights are out, if you are American you have put up your tree and for me here in Dortmund it means that the city has the larges Christmas tree of the world again (no kidding, it is!). And I, I decided to make Christmas calenders for my loved ones. For all those people who went with me through this super strange year of 2016 and bringing it to a good end. Wow.
For you this means that I have many recipes for energy bliss balls pendings because only one sort would be boring, I thought. Additionally I start today with the tutorial for a pretty and  super easy Christmas calender.

Cashew Amaranth Bliss Balls with Chocolate and Orange

You can’t ever have enough energy bliss balls.
And I just promised you more recipes.

Amaranth bliss balls are delicious and I really love my chocolate orange balls. And when it comes to cashews, well cashews are real staple food for me These energy balls today are a hybrid of these three favourites.

But, oh, where has the German version gone? German and English are now apart. Whose browser language is set to German will land at the German version of the article. Who has any other language preselected for his browser will be automatically redirected to this English version. So this does not depend on your location but on your real languale preferences. At least this is how it is supposed to work. Please leave me a comment if it doesn’t, this here is the first attempt. Within the next days there will be a little button to switch manually between the two versions. Like this everything here is way more tidy and structured and my huge textblocks look less threatening (and, who is interested: bilingual articles are a killer for search enginge optimization).

60g amaranthpoppies (half a package)
150g  cashews (half a package)
1/2 package orangenzest (I use the one from dm)
some vanilla
1 tablespoon coconutoil
2 hands full of cocoabutter
4 tablespoon maplesirup
2 tablespoon cashewbutter
1 bar dark chocolate (100g)

How to

Melt cocoabutter and coconutoil while you shred amaranth and the cashews in your blender. You don’t need flour here, but the cashews need to be ground and the amaranth just joins it. Then mix all ingredients except for the dark chocolate in a bowl and kneed. Chop half of the chocolate bar (I prefer stracciatella size), add to the dough and kneed. You do this at the end to avoid melting of the dark chocolate when it comes into contact with the hot mixture of melted cocoabutter and coconutoil. Nothing grave happens if it does, but it looks prettier if it doesn’t. Form balls. If the dough is to runny, add amaranth, if it is too solid, add cashewbutter.

Set the balls aside in a chilly place to harden and melt the second half of the chocolate bar. When the amaranth balls are hardened, glaze them and again let them cool on a rack. Optionally you can sprinkle them with some extra orangezest. This looks pretty and if you glaze some more different energy balls then you can easily tell them apart like this.
